Unleash the Black Dog is back on the calendar

May 23, 2019

Roll out the red carpet, dust off the fur coats and polish your dancing shoes! Unleash the Black Dog is back for another year, and a winter extravaganza ball is on the menu. The date has been set for Saturday 3rd August, and organisers say patrons are in for a treat at the 3rd ball, which was instigated to raise awareness about mental health for the Gwydir shire.

“This year is all about giving back to the Gwydir”, said organiser Nikki Rose. “There won’t be an auction, because we aren’t looking to raise funds. What we want to do, is create an opportunity for people to come away from their homes and unite together in the battle against the Black Dog”, she said. There will be some fantastic entertainment on offer at this year’s event, with band ‘Splashpool’ back to test the acoustics at the Roxy Theatre.

“The entertainment doesn’t stop there though”, said organiser Angela Pritchard. “Guests can expect other distractions throughout the evening – it really is an event not to be missed”, she said.

Watch this space”, said organiser Sarah Crump. “Our aim this year is to bring down the price of tickets, have some great entertainment on show and bring mates together for some respite away from this disastrous drought”, she said.

Information on tickets will be available shortly, and organisers are encouraging the public to ‘like’ their Facebook page ‘Unleash the Black Dog’ to keep abreast of details on the event.
