WARNING! Too much fun and laughter may be contagious!

The North West Theatre Company (NWTC) will have its first reading of the script for its May production this Wednesday evening. The Peter Gordon comedy who-dunnit, ‘Murdered to Death’ will be introduced to ‘would be’ cast members, in the Roxy Conference Room from 6:00pm.

“This is our first read,” said Director, Rick Hutton. “It’s a chance to get to know the play, and to consider the possibility of auditioning for a role,” he said. “Murdered to Death is a comedy spoof. Imagine an Agatha Christie murder mystery, add a twist of Fawlty Towers, and just a dash of Sherlock and you are getting close,” Rick explained.

The NWTC will conduct a second reading, doubling as an audition on Sunday, March 15, again at the Roxy, at 2:00pm. “All roles are available, and, there may be a bit of cross-dressing required,” Rick warned. “Murdered to Death has so many ‘traditional’ who-dunnit characters, the Butler, The Colonel, Miss Maple, the wealthy Dowager, the young Frenchman, the Inspector, the young Constable, and the fashionable Heiress, just to name a few, that I think it might be even more fun to play many of them by the opposite sex,” Rick said. “It’s an old pantomime trick, and really requires the actors to think very seriously about the character, their voices and mannerisms.”

Anyone, who would like to just listen to the reading, or to just come and see what it is like to read a part, is most welcome to come along on Wednesday evening and/or Sunday afternoon. For more information, phone Rick Hutton on 0428 255380.
