The Hunter Central Coast Regional Wind Ensemble, in which Sam Kennedy plays trumpet, was recently judged second on world stage, at the Summa Cum Laude International Music Festival at Vienna. The band was beaten by Singapore by only half a point.
"Big news is that our band is selected to be the gala night performers," Sam’s mother, Lenore, said in an excited text message. The band was the only one chosen to do so.
The band also played at Eurodisney on July 14 and at Salzburg.
Well done Sam, we are all delighted, but not surprised, by your success on the worls stage.
