August 9, 2020

Two local groups are soon to hold Yard Dog Trials after a year of disruption and delay. Delungra and Bingara Yard Dog Trials are both coming up this August and September. They are sure to well attended as some of the first yard dog events since COVID 19 lockdown as the community looks for events to enjoy together.

As a Show Society project the Bingara event will be held at the showground over two days on the 12th-13th September. Event organiser, John Peters told The Gwydir News that stock have been organised and event planning is well underway.

“There will be a maiden, novice and open events. Hopefully if we can get enough locals to get involved, we will be able to run a local event as well. We will keep a simple course for the local event and encourage everyone to have a go,” he said.

“Locals have responded really well to the event being held and been really good with sponsorship.” “Last year was only a one day event and we clashed with Armidale so that took a lot away at the time. This year we don’t have that problem and we are hoping to have full events,” said John.
