Your chance to “Rage at the Roxy” at the Movies, Music & Mayhem 2 Trivia Night on February 26

February 8, 2011

The North West Theatre Company is preparing to hosts its second event of 2011. Following the very successful SHINE! Australia Day Prelude Concert, the second of its multi media Trivia Nights will be held at the Roxy theatre in Bingara.

Saturday evening February 26 will be the day, with a 7:30pm start time. The first Trivia Night held two years ago had Movies, Music and Mayhem as its theme and the NWTC utilised the Roxy’s great screen, video and sound equipment to highlight questions and “challenges”, for the contestants.

This year the invitation is for teams of eight to meet the challenge with fact and fun questions from a broad range of general knowledge along with a smattering of movie and music clues. The challenge is out for groups, families and friends from across the region to “rage at the Roxy” to win some wonderful prizes, the pinnacle of which is the title of the top trivia team.

“We can even cater for those who can’t make up their own team of eight,” said NWTC President, John Wearne. “Come one, come all, and be surprised at the new friends you may meet, and the chance to combine your trivia knowledge, with others in your team.” he said.

Expect some surprises too. “This is no ordinary trivia night.” said NWTC Publicity Officer, Rick Hutton. “Some of our challenges will require some team members to “dance with the stars”, “do the hokey pokey” and even “act the goat” to earn special prizes.” he added.

“We even have prizes for the best decorated Movies, Music and Mayhem theme table and individual prizes for the best male and female dress up.It might be a little bit “naughty” at times,” Rick said, “So we are suggesting an M classification and contestants should be 15+.”

Tickets are available through the Bingara Tourist Information Office by phoning 6724 0066. The evening is BYO drinks and snacks. The cost is $15 for an individual entry and $12.50 per person for full tables of eight.

“Expect the unexpected, and be prepared to delve into the depths of your trivia knowledge,” said John. “All of the 100 trivia questions will be multiple choice, so you will know that the right answer is always there. Your team will just have to argue amongst themselves to decide which choice is best. Whatever happens, a fun filled evening is guaranteed.” John Wearne concluded.
