Gwydir Toy Libraries

Gwydir Toy Libraries strive to promote a family friendly, networking and educational service for all families within the shire to access at their leisure. The Toy Libraries facilitate the emergent development of the child by implementing developmentally appropriate experiences during service session times.  The Toy libraries encourage families to join the service and utilise the borrowing of toys, games and educational equipment and attend events with guest speakers.

Families and children are encouraged to participate in playgroup sessions with craft, language and literacy and music and movement activities on offer. Access to trained staff is available to help guide and or support families in their role as parents/carers of small children upon request or as required.

MEMBERSHIP

Memberships start at just $20 as a non-borrowing member, (this allows members to join unlimited service sessions for 12 months), $25 for a casual borrowing membership (allowing unlimited access to service sessions and 5 borrowing sessions throughout the 12 month period) and $50 for an unlimited borrowing membership (permitting unlimited borrowing and service session attendance throughout the 12 month period of membership).

Playgroup is run each Thursday during the school term from 10am til midday.

Play is more than just fun for kids. It is how babies and children learn, and how they work out who they are and where they fit in the world.

Playing is one of the most important things you can do with your child. The time you spend playing together gives your child lots of different ways and times to learn.
