Gwydir Libraries

Gwydir Public Library forms part of Central Northern Regional Library (CNRL) based in Tamworth.

Being part of a regional library gives Gwydir residents access to a much larger and broader range of library resources. Branch libraries can be found in Bingara & Warialda. Remote villages across the shire have access to the library via email or the web site with delivery to your community via council employees. Pop up libraries & book boxes can be found in community halls where play group is hosted ensuring children have access to books.

New members can join on-line at to gain access to whole regional collection plus much more including free downloads, reference libraries, large font books, talking books, music, eBooks.

Membership to the Central Northern Regional Library is FREE.

Visit one of our branches to enjoy the use of free WIFI and numerous public access computers, printing facilities (at cost) or participate in one of the many programs our branches deliver.

Remote Access Customers

The library offers a special delivery service across the shire.  Books can be reserved on-line and delivered to any Shire resident who becomes a member of the Library.

The Central Northern Regional Library website ( allows members to gain access to whole regional collection plus free downloads reference libraries, large font books, talking books, music, eBooks, links to the State Library of NSW and much more.

Toddler programs

Storytime is hosted at both toy libraries as well as play groups across the shire.

Toddler Tales for parents and infants to introduce their children to the world of reading every Friday in the Bingara Library & Thursday in the Warialda Library.

The perfect partnership; public libraries and homeschoolers!

Home schooled children are also more than welcome to participate in after school programs.

Homeschooled children have access to a wide range of resources available for loan for extended periods of time.

Spaces are available for homeschoolers to conduct sessions with computers & WIFI available.
