Bingara Bowls Carnival
18/05/2019 - 19/05/2019

The Bingara Sporting Club is gearing up for an action packed weekend of lawn bowls at the inaugural Light Horse Regiment Bowls Carnival on the 18th and 19th May 2019.

The two day event which is set to attract around 120 bowlers from across NSW and beyond will see groups of fours and pairs battling it out for some fantastic cash prizes, with a total prize pool of over $4,000 thanks to over 14 Bingara sponsors.

The event which is the brainchild of Bingara Sporting Club’s Male Bowls Committee, aims to hold a “Must Attend” Carnival that showcases the best bowling greens in the district coupled with good old fashioned “Bingara Hospitality”.

“We have partnered with a number of accommodation providers to offer visiting competitors affordable accommodation rates, it is hoped that this will entice more entries from afar to come and experience Bingara and inject some much needed funds into the local economy” said Mr Whitfield.

The Lawn Bowls Carnival is dedicated to the 35 men from the Gwydir district who served in the Light Horse Regiment, some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for their town and their country.

The Carnival hopes to honour these men ……Lest We Forget.

For anyone interested in participating in the Carnival are encouraged to fill out a nomination form available at the Sportsman’s Club or contact Colin Whitfield on 0416 248 581 or email
