Enthusiastic crowd at Bingara Cup

February 1, 2018

Tamworth trainer, Luke Morgan’s gelding Medal Afrique was a clear winner of the 1300m Austbrokers RWA Insurance Bingara Cup on Saturday.  Ridden by Armidale jockey, Geoff Snowdon, Medal Afrique won by almost a length.

Although the crowd was down slightly, race-goers were enthusiastic and vocal.

Judges of the Fashions on the Field were able to choose a large number of finalists before making their decision.

Committee member, Damien Crump, said the track and the grounds “came up a treat”.

There was some very good racing, with some close finishes.

For the first time, a Calcutta was held on Friday night at the Sportsman’s Hotel. This was deemed to be a success.

After the races, the action transferred back to the Sportsman’s Hotel where a band entertained.
