Bingara’s Dylan Butler was named in the squad, with Warialda player Jed Carroll chosen as a shadow reserve.

NSW Oztag will host its first ever City v Country Oztag Championships on the Central Coast in June , with four sides competing: Northern Country, Southern Country, Southern City and Western City.

Local players have been selected as part of the Mixed Open Northern Country squad, joining representatives from Tamworth, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Macquarie, Port Stephens, and Coffs Harbour.

Competition will take place on Saturday, June 9. If a player is not available for the competition, Jed Carrill will move into the side, joining Dylan Butler for the carnival.

The success of the Bingara Oz Tag competition, and the recent NSW State Cup has sparked much interest in the sport across the Shire, with an announcement made this week that a competition will be held through the winter months in Warialda. The Warialda competition will consist of two divisions; Juniors (14 years and under), and Seniors (15 years and older as of 7th May 2018).

Competition will commence on Monday, May 7, running through until August. Teams can sign up to 16 players, and registration will be $110 per team. Nomination forms can be collected from the Hospital. For information and enquiries, contact Paul Hall on 0429 189 520. Warialda Oz Tag will be run entirely by volunteers. Any competitors, or non-competitors, interesting in assisting in refereeing are welcome.

More information will be available shortly.
