Bingara’s hosting of the Australian Caravan Club has been judged as a success by the caravan clubs deputy chairman Mr Tom Smith.
With the event drawing in numbers of more than 330, the showground has been the base of the caravanning expo hosting resources to the tourists including electricity and supplied water with thanks to the shire’s efforts and work for the event.
Spread over the showgrounds area was an amount of more than 180 caravans and Recreational vehicles.
Settled for the week: Over 180 caravans are parked at the Bingara Showgrounds, with visitors exploring the town and surrounds each day.
Next year’s event is hosted at Denmark, Western Australia but will it beat Bingara’s magnificent reputation and scenery?
The event is strongly supported by the caravan club and draws a lot of members due to the great places travelled and the social experiences the travellers’ experience.
This event draws members from far and wide. The event draws a crowd to the town and its attractions including the Roxy Theatre and The Living Classroom being inspected by the town’s visitors.
They are participating in a farm and agricultural experience out on a property with a host farmer giving them a tour around the property and the factual side of the agricultural industry on the property.
They are also participating in community events including lawn bowls and golf mixing with the community during their week in Bingara. They have also been met by guest speakers of the area. As well many are planning some extra sightseeing from the Lookout and Sawn Rocks. Their travels also lets them experience the area’s history through the Historical Museum, the Three Creeks Gold Mine and Myall creek.
The community has involved the caravan club with multiple events planned including the Lion’s club breakfast and other social activities throughout the town and area.
The club will stay in town until the closing ceremony on Sunday. Copeton dam has also been listed as a hotspot and will be visited by many of the travellers over the next few days.
Bingara’s reputation is still strongly known throughout all the caravan owners as a beautiful peaceful town with lovely scenery and a welcoming community. The deputy chairman of the caravan club agrees with other interviewed travellers that the Gwydir river is a hotspot for all travellers alike.
They continued to mention the community’s welcoming involvement of the event and fantastic business services, cementing Bingara’s reputation as a much loved community by all.
Businesses in Bingara have also reported a steady flow of visitors to the shops.
