AUSTRALIA DAY 2022 NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN

Australia Day, 2022 is fast approaching and the Bingara Special Events Committee is calling for nominations for the 2021 Local Bingara Citizen of the Year Awards.

The four Award Categories for 2021 are: –

A) Citizen of the Year: Open to persons 26 years or older on January 26, 2022.

B) Young Citizen of the Year: Open to persons 16 years to 25 years of age on January 26, 2022.

C) Volunteer or Volunteer Team/Group of the Year.

D) Community Event of the Year. Nomination forms and guidelines are available from Bingara Visitor Information Centre, currently located in The Old Courthouse Art Gallery, at the corner of Maitland and Finch Street, Bingara – not at the Roxy Complex.

• Do you know someone who is a volunteer, who has undertaken countless volunteer hours for a service organisation, a local sporting or community group or an educational facility?

• Someone whose efforts mainly benefit the community or the individual?

• Did they overcome obstacles or make sacrifices?

• Were their achievements the work of an individual or a team?

• Are they someone who goes beyond normal employment duties?

• Do you know someone who has an outstanding achievement in their work or studies?

• Do they demonstrate leadership, innovation, and creativity?

• What are their future goals and the likely impact of their work?

• Would they have the availability and commitment to promote community pride and active citizenship throughout the year of the recipient’s appointment?

• Have they received assistance from council, government, or other grants?

Fully completed nomination forms can be delivered to Bingara Visitor Information Centre, or posted to Locked Bag 5, Bingara, to be received NO LATER THAN close of business, 4:30pm, Friday January 14, 2022.

Winners will be announced on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January 2022, during the local Bingara Award ceremony to be held in the Roxy Theatre.
