Bingara Road complete

November 11, 2020

The last gravel section of Bingara Road bitumen sealing has been completed at Bundarra. Uralla Shire Council recently completed the final seal, thanks to a $2.1 million grant from the State Government.

The drive from Bingara to Copeton Dam or Uralla can now be undertaken on a fully sealed road, making the trip much safer than the previous gravel roadway.

Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall says the project has successfully improved the trip from Bingara. “Just five years ago, almost all of the road from Bundarra, within the Uralla Shire was gravel and now it’s bitumen tall the way!”

It is hoped that improvements will see more tourists using this route, as well as the freight industry. “Now that this road is completely sealed, I’m keen to focus on doing the same along the Barraba Road from Bingara,” said Mr Adam Marshall.
