Gwydir Shire Council Commemorative Birth Certificates were presented to Bingara families at a function at the Toy Library last Thursday.

newest Gwydir Residents

Donna Rowleson with Summer, Maryellen Honeysett with Louella and Jaymee-Lee Yates-Gee with Olympia received their special birth certificates from Acting Mayor, Cr. Catherine Egan.

Some grandparents were also in attendance to help celebrate the occasion. Apologies were received from Cassandra with Shai-Lea, Kate with Phoebe, Charmaine with Lani and Melissa with Isaac. All enjoyed a morning tea afterwards.

The morning tea was generously prepared by Suzy Webber, who donated the food, and prepared it in her own time.

The morning also was an opportunity to thank the following: CWA Ladies, who unfortunately could not be there, for their generous cheque amounts for donations towards batteries and sand for the sandpit, Mrs Thomas for her donation for the raffle and upgrading of the Toy Library doll’s house, Judi Peterson for her time selling raffle tickets to raise funds to get a shade shelter for our outside sandpit area plus a raffle donation, and an anonymous lady who has kindly donated a large item for our next raffle. With the morning being somewhat chilly, the celebration took place inside the toy room at the Toy Library.

The playgroup families ventured outside after the official ceremony to enjoy the playground. If you live in the Gwydir Shire and have given birth to a new baby and would like to receive one of these certificates, you can register by completing a form collected from the Toy Library, Bingara or Warialda or Child and Family Health Nurse Debbie Armstrong at either Warialda or Bingara MPS.
