Competitive quilts on tour

June 15, 2018

In a novel but practical approach to competition, Ceramic Break Sculpture Park and the Warialda Rotary announce their Inaugural Travelling Quilters Competition. The first venue is the Fuller Gallery at Barraba, where the quilts are currently on show until Saturday, June 16.

From Monday June 18 until Sunday June 24, the quilts can be seen at the Inverell RSM. The Bank Art Museum at Moree will show the quilts from Friday, July 6 until Sunday, July 15, before going to the Roxy Theatre, Bingara from Saturday, August 4 to 12.

Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery is the next stop, from August 15 to 25. The quilts then return to Warialda for a fortnight at the Ceramic Break Sculpture Park from September 1 to 15.  The winners will be announced on Saturday September 1 at Ceramic Break.

The last stop is Ray Walsh House in Tamworth where the quilts will be on display from September 18 to 29. Given the splendid array of quilts entered in the Warialda and Bingara Shows last month, and the popularity of Jacqui Breneger’s Sew Much More quilting classes, entries are expected to be of a very high quality.
