Drought brings help from musicians

October 28, 2018

Bingara and District Vision 2020 President, John Bishton, has announced that Shane Howard (Goanna) and John Schuman (Redgum) will be giving a free concert at Bingara on Thursday 6th December, as part of their “songs that changed a nation” tour.

The concert will coincide with and will be part of the Bingara Christmas Carnival which has generously adjusted their format to accommodate this great event. The concert will be held at Gwydir Oval, Bingara, commencing around 630 pm.

“A barbecue will be available so all you need to do is bring your own chair and drinks,” Mr. Bishton said.  “And if it rains we will head to the Roxy Theatre.”

Mr. Bishton said the concert had been made possible by donations from the people of Bangalow, who have ‘adopted’ Bingara, and with funds from the IGA nominated charity, Drought Angels. Collectively, IGA stores have raised $750,000 for the drought appeal.

The Gwydir News understands that country music artist, Adam Harvey will be performing at Coolatai on Saturday December, 1, so people in the Gwydir Shire are in for some top entertainment in the coming weeks, without having to pay prices that many in the area simply cannot afford at the moment.

More details about the concerts will be given with they come to hand.
