Bingara Anglers Club will use a donation from Foster’s Group Limited to repair an air pump at the Hatchery.
Fosters representative, Jim Simmons, presented Hatchery volunteers with a cheque for $2,000 on Thursday night.
The cheque was the result of a six month sponsorship by Fosters. Under the arrangement, the company donated ten cents to the Bingara Hatchery for every litre of Fosters beer sold at Bingara’s five liquor outlets.
Anglers Club President, Steve Apthorpe, told the Advocate the air pump was in need of repair and the hatchery was running on a back up.
Steve said that Mr. Simmons was impressed with the hatchery program, and would look into possible further sponsorship of the hatchery at a later date.
The cheque presentation was the perfect start to the Easterfish weekend, which was 203 registrations, including 34 from Pallamallawa, who also helped with the weigh in of the fish at Copeton Dam.
