The Gwydir Concert band will have the opportunity to tour the region with the Chatswood Concert Band this week.
Chatswood have a huge band program, consisting of four concert bands, and they frequently perform overseas. The combined tour will be from Monday to Thursday.
An overnight stay on Wednesday September at the Living Classroom has been arranged, to enable the band members to spend time together as there are a number of different schools involved.
The visitors will also be treated to a visit to John Wade’s property, Garrawilla to experience country life.
As well as schools in the Gwydir Shire, the band will also perform at Inverell, Barraba and at Narrabri.
The Narrabri trip will include a stopover at Sawn Rocks and the Glacial Area.
The end of the tour coincides with the start of the school holidays.
