I Love My Local Business Competition Now Open

September 11, 2013

NSW consumers are being urged to nominate their favourite local business. NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe has launched the popular Facebook competition, encouraging consumers and businesses to get involved. The competition is open from 2-30 September.

Mr Stowe said the competition was a great way to show Fair Trading supports all aspects of the local community, including local business.

“It can be hard work running a great local business,” he said. “We often publicise when a business does the wrong thing but this competition celebrates good business practice in NSW.”

Consumers can participate by telling Fair Trading, in 60 words or less, what they love about their favourite local business.

Everyone who nominates a business goes into a draw to win one of six prizes valued at $250 each.

“I encourage everyone who has had a good local business experience to go to the Fair Trading Facebook page, find the I love my local business competition details and enter.”

“Local businesses play an invaluable role in NSW. Communities with a strong connection among local residents and businesses are more resilient and these awards are a great way for the community to come together.”
