More project applications Needed for Halls Creek

September 25, 2008

The Border Rivers Gwydir CMA in association with The Upper Gwydir Landcare Association, is encouraging more Landholders along Halls Creek to participate in the Halls Creek Repair and Remediation Program.

The Project continues to progress. The committee has received 16 Expression of Interest applications to date, from both rural and urban landholders. Some Landholders have received funding for there projects lodged earlier in the year, and other projects are being developed at this time.

Funding is still available, we are welcoming applications for further projects along Halls Creek. Projects must represent genuine landscape improvement or environmental benefit, and be cost effective in achieving the outcomes. Works could include bed and gully controls, establishment of perennial pastures, revegetation/regeneration along streams, or creek fencing/alternate water systems.

Landholders with Halls Creek frontage within the town limits are encouraged to participate in the project. Funding is available and the committee is welcoming applications from those interested in fencing and vegetating the creek.

To receive an application form or any further information please call Frances Young on Phone 67 242 052 or Sara Foot, Border Rivers-Gwydir CMA, Moree, Phone 6757 2555.
