Music at Mimosa

March 24, 2014

For a relaxed evening of music under the stars, Opera North West Ltd together with the Inverell Music Appreciation Group are presenting Music at Mimosa, Delungra on Friday, March 28.

“Music at Mimosa will be a great way to unwind on a Friday evening. Pack a picnic, bring a chair, sit back, relax and let the music waft by!” said Opera North West’s Artistic Director, Ms Peta Blyth.

The program offers a wide range of music including violin solos by Mozart, Piazolla and Monti, duets by Leclair and Shostakovich, arias by Handel, Bellini, Puccini and Gounod, songs by Satie and Gershwin, plus themes from Ladies in Lavender and Schindler’s List.

Artists include two violinists, Margaret Butcher and Julie Fawcett, Armidale based pianist Deidre Rickards and Peta Blyth, soprano. “It will be wonderful to welcome people once again to the “paddock”, not Opera in the Paddock, but a pleasant evening in the “paddock”, even if it is a little on the dry side! It still has a majestic beauty. The evenings are superb here at the moment and its is a terrific program,” said Mrs Blyth.

Opera North West Ltd is collaborating with the Inverell Music Appreciation Group to present and promote the concert.

Opera North West is a non profit organisation which has produced Opera in the Paddock at Mimosa for eleven years and over thirty concerts throughout the region.
