Pet show attracts good field of entrants

May 29, 2008

The Bingara Pet Show, held at the Bingara Show drew a good field of entrants and a crowd of interested spectators to watch the judging. In a dog eat dog world, it was great to witness the tremendous sportsmanship of all entrants, both two and four legged.

“With wonderful support from Chris at Bingara Vet Clinic, Inverell Pet World and Rod King at Bingara Newsagency, we had some lovely prizes this year for the children and their pets – a BIG thank you to all,” Pet Show steward, Trish Maxwell, said. “Also thanks to Pam Clarke whose help organising and judging was very much appreciated,” she said.

Results are as follows:
Most Appealing: Charlotte, Dog Maddison 1st.
Harry Dog (borrowed) Lucy 2nd.
Misty Miniature Horse Caitlan 3rd.
Most Loyal . In this section, competitors were required to say how their pets showed loyalty.
Miss Molly Dog Chelsea 1st.
Bear Dog Joanne 2nd.
Buddy Dog Jayden 3rd.
Most Unusual Harry Dog Lucy 1st.
Misty Horse Caitlan 2nd.
Buster Dog Angus 3rd.

‘Grand Champion’ of the show – Charlotte (Maltese Terrier) owned by Maddison Iskov.

All entrants were beautifully presented with both ‘Miss Molly’ and ‘Charlotte’ being dressed to the nines for the show and although ‘Harry’ a large Irish Wolf Hound, had a slight dribbling problem from all the excitement, it didn’t stop the Judges awarding him a well deserved Second prize in the ‘Most Appealing’ Section.

Bear owned by Joanne found it all too much and promptly fell asleep in the middle of Judging while ‘Buster’ (son of ‘Barry’ Egan) owned by Angus showed his breeding and stood proud throughout the show.

Although ‘Becker’ owned by Sarah was just squeezed out of a Third placing, he was awarded a prize by the Judges for being so well presented and behaved – well done Sarah and ‘Becker’.
