Strong response to ‘Wider Gwydir’ pop-up shop

August 31, 2016

The first week of the Wider Gwydir pop-up shop has been a great success.  There has been thoughtful feedback pinned up on noticeboards; with notes from visitors, both Bingara and away, sharing their ideas on how they see Bingara evolving, leading up to 2030.

For those who haven’t yet been in to the Roxy Café to see, there is an amazing display of photos and information gathered and exhibited on boards about a variety of topics, including Tourism, River Health, Lions/School/Community, as well as Gwydir Shire Council and local businesses.

The organisers thank the many volunteers for producing and manning such a grand display.

Wider Gwydir pop up shopThe boards have been described as “informative and thought-provoking” and volunteers (all members of our community) have used a great deal of initiative in compiling their boards.

The new Bingara website will be launched soon and this is an opportunity preview it prior to the official launch.

The pop-up shop is open for the next two weeks from Thursday to Saturday September 1 to 3, and September 8 to 10, and the doors are open from 10am to 4pm, 10-1 on Saturday, September 3.

On Thursday, September 8 all businesses and anyone else who cannot make the hours of opening are invited to attend.

Meeting the candidates
It’s also an opportunity for all Gwydir Shire Council election candidates to be present for a “meet the candidates” over wine and cheese.

Every person is encouraged to come inside the Roxy Café, look over the boards and share their ideas for the future of our town.
