Support the Legacy Appeal

August 27, 2011

Legacy is dedicated to caring for families of deceased veterans. Today Legacy’s caring and compassionate service assists over 100 000 widows and 1900 children and dependents with a disability. It is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life.

Bingara Contact Group of Inverell Legacy who at present have thirty war widows enrolled will be conducting this year’s appeal on Thursday and Friday, September 1 and 2. As the Bingara Torchbearers for Legacy has now disbanded the Legatees will man and operate the street stall  on both Thursday and Friday as well as carrying out the usual badge sales. Also a trailer load of wood will be raffled.

Donations on both days of cakes, scones, vegetable, clothing and other saleable items to the steet  stall would be greatly appreciated. Bingara Central School will also participate in this years Legacy Appeal and as well as selling badges, pens, wristbands at the school canteen, a number of students will also assist at the street stall the community selling of badges.
