Students from Fraser house turned on a fine display in their red shirts to take out the award for marching at the Bingara Central School’s annual Thomson Cup athletics carnival last Wednesday week.
The judges, Robert Northcott, Charles McKenzie and Ron Greenaway had a tough time picking between the three teams which all showed great enthusiasm and team spirit, but agreed that Fraser had the edge.
Bingara would be one of very few towns (indeed we know of no other) where a school sports carnival begins with a march along the main street, with members of the public stopping to watch and support the children.
It’s yet another reason Bingara why is special.
