Warialda Pony Club invites Bingara members to ride for cancer

February 18, 2010

Warialda Pony Club is planning a horse ride to raise money for the Cancer Council to aid in research. The ride will take place on the weekend of March 20 and 21.

The ride will commence at Hugh and Michelle Coulton’s property Tallangatta on the Gineroi Road. Riders will cross the Warialda Creek and then travel through Kyeema across to John and Kerry Coulton’s Avondale Woolshed.

From here riders will trek over the mountain to Robert and Mardi Coulton’s property Innesvale. Riders can camp overnight and continue on to Warialda showground on Sunday.

Limited cattle and sheep yards are available so horses may need to be stabled at Warialda Showground overnight. No electric fence yards. This will cover a distance of approximately 25 km.

There will be prizes for the best fancy dress or decorated helmet, the most sponsorship raised and more.

To be covered by insurance all riders must be riding members of Pony Club and wear a 3838 helmet. Anne Mack will be available to register people with the Warialda Pony Club at the Royal Hotel in Warialda on the February 25 at 5pm. Cost is approximately $42.

Anne Mack can also be contacted on 02 6729 4146. Riders will need to bring their own morning tea/lunch on Saturday and breakfast for Sunday.

A barbecue tea on Saturday night and Sunday lunch will be available at minimun cost.

Riders need to supply their horses’ feed and bring camping equipment. Riders may gather sponsors or alternatively, donations would be greatfully accepted.

If you have not been asked by a pony clubber to sponsor them and you wish to support this fundraiser there are cancer council boxes at Warialda Medical Centre, Warialda Pharmacy, McGregors, Bingara Vet Clinic and Bingara Medical
Centre.

All people wishing to participate must notify Michelle Coulton by March 10 on 02 6729 4137 or email h.m.coulton@bigpond.com.au
